Jigsaw Education Group (formerly Jan Lever Group) collectively refers to Jigsaw PSHE Ltd, Discovery RE Ltd which are registered limited companies in England, UK, to provide specific educational resources and training for schools.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This statement has been updated with the introduction of GDPR legislation and describes how the Jigsaw Education Group overall collects and uses your personal information.

Information we collect and how we obtain it

We obtain information from you from conferences and exhibitions we attend, or when you take part in our training events, or if you engage with our online marketing, respond to promotions by post, visit our website, or make contact by telephone or email.

We collect your name, your role at your school, an email address (so we can reach you at your school), a generic school office email address and postal/delivery and billing addresses and school telephone number. We do not collect personal data such as your home addresses or personal telephone numbers. We maintain records of the products and services you/your school has purchased from us and the results of any of our surveys and quality assurance checks (such as for the Jigsaw Families Programme) that you may have taken part in or are still taking part in.

Consent

You will be asked for your explicit consent at the point of collection. We will not store your details if you have not provided consent except in the case of Automatic Collection (below).  You may revoke your consent at any time by contacting us through the Contact Information section below. We will ignore Consent given by anyone under the age of 18, treating it as if consent was not given and information provided under that circumstance will be immediately discarded/destroyed, except in the case of Automatic Collection (below).

Automatic Collection

When you use our websites, our security software will collect your current IP address for the sole purpose that we may protect our site from hacking attempts and malicious attacks. IP addresses used by our Analytical systems (which tell us how our site is used, by what type of devices, operating systems and web-browsers and where in the world people view from) are anonymised to protect your identity.

If you believe the information we hold about you to be incorrect, please contact us using the Contact Information at the end of this document and we will update the information within 3 working days.

DSR’s

Under GDPR you have a right to know what information we hold about you. If you wish to receive a report, you must file a Data Subject Request. You may do this via letter or email (quoting “Data Subject Request” as the Subject of your communication. Collating this information may take some time but we will keep you informed through the process and will complete your request within a reasonable time.

We know education staff often rely on being kept up-to-date about new education products, services, news, and information to help them in their daily working lives at educational establishments.  We may therefore impart information about relevant curriculum and broader educational issues, to assist schools and teaching staff, and to provide help, encouragement and support on an ongoing basis.

The Analystics we collect allow us to ensure that our website and services work properly with your devices, to deliver the right services to your location, and help us identify which elements are used a lot, to which are becoming obsolete, so we may maintain our site accordingly, ensuring relevance and quality of service.

Disclosure

We will not sell or disclose your personal information to a third party. However, we will disclose specific information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of the Jan Lever Group; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Jigsaw Education Group, or the public.

We take the privacy and security of your information very seriously.  We take steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

All information you provide to us electronically is stored and transferred using up-to-date strong encryption technologies. Where available, data may be further encrypted (at rest) and all data, stored in the Internet zone or locally is secured by restriction of access to relevant personnel only.

We backup local data using Military Grade encryption software.

If this privacy policy changes in any way, we will put an updated version on the website. Regularly reviewing this ensures you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances.

It may take up to 7 days to completely action your request and we will notify you as soon as this has been completed. Note that under UK legislation, we are obliged by law to retain Customer (accounting) information for 7 years, after which time, it is permanently and irrecoverably destroyed.
